Are You Facing Skype Can’t Connect Error After Upgradation on Ubuntu?

Just before few days 4th Aug when people were trying to log-in to Skype Version 4.1 & 4.2 they were not able to do it. An error message “Skype can’t connect.” Was displaying when pressed Sign in button after filling the Skype Name and Password (The password and name both were correct).

To resolve this issue, you tried almost everything, from removing Skype completely to install Skype again and again from ‘Ubuntu Software Center’, ‘By downloading latest Skype .deb file and running it on machine’, but every time same result.?

Here is the solution:-

First, you need to remove the old version Skype:

sudo apt-get auto remove –purge Skype

You also need to remove the ~/.Skype folder

Then try with this

sudo add-apt-repository “deb https://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner”

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install skype && sudo apt-get -f install
(This method will automatically detect the OS architecture and install the latest Skype4.3)
